Halloween

The kids had fun dressing up for book character day at school on Halloween morning. I love piecing together their costumes every year. The boots are her own, the striped pajama bottoms were bought at Goodwill last year for her Raggedy Ann costume. The sweater was bought at Goodwill this year. I threw the nose and ears together with bits of felt, fabric glue, pipe cleaner, elastic and thread. I love how well the ears turned out, if I say so myself. Doesn't she look adorable?

C was Pirate Jake all day, both at school and Halloween night. His boots are his own. Pants were from Walmart. T-shirt from Goodwill. Vest was put together with felt, hot glue and fabric glue. Belt is just a piece of brown felt. Headband and sword came from a Pirate Jake toy set he got for his birthday. I thought the vest turned out okay except it was too big. He wanted his eyebrows and hair painted black. I made the mistake of spraying A LOT of black hair spray on him before school. When I picked him up that afternoon his headband, vest and shirt were smeared with black and everything had to be rewashed before we went out that night. I bathed him and washed his hair out really well after school. Then lightly sprayed his hair that evening, which worked out much better.

Before school with their books. They had a parade at school and I missed it by just a few minutes! I wanted to take pictures. :/

J wanted to go trick or treating as Izzy from Jake & The Neverland Pirates. Here they are right before we left to meet up with friends. J is making another silly face but this was the best pic of the 2 of them in their pirate outfits.

About to go trick or treating.

Trick or treating. We were actually with a group of friends but my kids were feeling shy about trick or treating and I'm super slow these days so we lagged behind the first few houses lol. We caught up with our friends and stayed with them after a bit.

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I'm already looking forward to next year!!
