November Day

I took these pics over a week ago when my husband and the older girls were still in Texas. I've been trying to take pics several days a week and I'm pretty happy with some of these. I love the photo above but I had to ask a friend of mine to edit out the boogers and goop on L's face. Poor girl was pretty sick that day!

Our cute puppy stood still long enough for me to get this shot.

I'm not happy with this pic at all. I tried to edit it and don't like the way it turned out but wanted to share because it captures C and the puppy hanging out in the backyard like always. C was doing something with a rope and a stick ha!!

I think he was trying to throw the stick over a branch. I love this shot of him! He has always held his mouth like that when he's concentrating.

One of the big maple leaves he found in the woods behind our house. (We've found much bigger leaves since.)

L just looking cute but you can tell she's not feeling good. Poor thing.

I have a lot of catching up to do. Still need to post the Christmas parade (It's held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year) and our Thanksgiving Day

Fun Weekend!!

Friday afternoon Sol and I ran up to Neighborhood Wal-Mart for a few things.
Sol had so much fun ringing up our purchases. :)

You can see she's ringing up this grey nail polish that I bought for fall. I'm loving it!

The little girls had soccer Saturday morning.

Sol absolutely LOVES soccer and does really well! This is her third season playing.

This is Indie's first season playing. Last week she wouldn't let me put her down but this week she
actually got out on the field and kicked the ball a few times before the game. She didn't play during the "game" but I was so proud of her for getting out on the field and participating a bit!
It's definitely a little progress! :)

J made delicious nachos for lunch on Saturday!! So yummy!!

Saturday afternoon our sweet next door neighbors invited us over for fruit, cheese & crackers, cookies and lemonade and also invited our puppy to come and run and play in their backyard! We don't have a fenced in backyard so our puppy is always on a leash or chain when he's outside. He had the best time running around freely for a couple hours! Our neighbors even had a new toy, a frisbee and dog treats for him!

The kids had a lot of fun playing in the neighbors yard too!

We went to church this morning then had life group this evening. Indie had fun swinging
from these things. She even lifted her feet up off the ground several times but I didn't get a
picture of that. She's getting so big! I can't believe she'll be 3 in less than a month!

Mar is getting so big too! Today she wore a women's xxs dress that I found at Goodwill.
How is she big enough to be wearing women's sizes!? She's still little enough/young
enough to enjoy a playground though!

After we got home from life group we noticed the neighbors had left their van door open
so Sol ran over to ring their doorbell and let them know. Ha! So cute!

We had a fun, busy weekend! The temps have been a tiny bit cooler. Still hot
but I've noticed a tiny difference.. or maybe it's just wishful thinking ha!
I'm so ready for crisp fall weather!

summer days

We've had a busy-ish week. It seems like summer is winding down fast which is always a bittersweet feeling.

I've made an effort to get to the pool this week. Last week it rained so much we didn't get a chance to go but this week we've gone both Monday and Wednesday mornings. I'd like to go again tomorrow or Saturday.

Our neighborhood is getting a brand new playground! It's going in right next to the pool so it's fun to be able to watch the progress! The kids are really excited about it and I'm looking forward to cooler weather when we can actually enjoy being outside without melting. Right now we're either inside with the AC going full blast or at the pool.

Yesterday afternoon we went to the mall so Alex could participate in the free VIP Lego mini build event. This is the first one he's gone to and had a lot of fun! They had a few leftover sets from a previous month that they gave to the girls.
The kids have been loving the Lego stores lately! I love that they have a Duplo table for toddlers while the older kids browse or play with the smaller pieces.

We browsed around a few other stores at the mall. I had to get Sol this camo scarf off the clearance rack at Claire's. She loves camo and is such a little tomboy but has a real girly side too. She's excited to wear it this fall!

The older girls wanted their pics made in this unicorn cut-out outside Claire's.

It was storming around the time we wanted to head home so we ended up staying and getting dinner at the food court. Mar and I had Chinese food while the others had pizza. Indie looks so grown up in this picture! I was really proud of her for climbing up on a bar stool by herself and calmly sitting there. She generally gets upset any time she's on a barstool and wants to get down because she feels like she's falling. She looks a little nervous here but she got up there by herself and sat there for a few minutes. :)

I saw these adorable puppy legwarmers at Five Below! Perfect colors to support the Cowboys this winter!! We decided our dog would probably chew them up in thirty seconds so I didn't get them but I thought they were so cute. Five Below also had dog coats, shirts, dresses and some pretty cute toys including one that looked like a Starbucks coffee drink.

E loves to sit in this chair sometimes when he's outside. I guess he thinks he's human or something lol. He's so funny!

We have a lot of busy days coming up! Mar had an orthodontist appointment this morning. Next week Indie has her first in home therapy for SPD and then a check-up for her hip later in the week. All the kids have an upcoming dentist appointment. I've never made appointments for all four at once before so this could be interesting. I still need to register Alex for school and un-enroll Mar. Lots of end-of-the-summer stuff coming up and we want to try and cram in a few summer activities that we haven't done yet before school starts up again!

Weekend Wrap-Up

The three girls all ready for church yesterday morning! I love this picture of them!

All 4 kids ready for church. I woke up with a migraine yesterday morning so my awesome hubby took the kids for church and let me stay home and rest. I've been getting migraines every day the past several days. I think these are allergy related and connected to the major muscle tension I'm having in my shoulders and upper back. I'm planning to go to the chiro tomorrow and I know that will really help!

This pictures was actually from Thursday evening when we had a storm coming in. I just love a great storm and a love watching storm clouds! Thankfully all we got was a ton of rain and nothing serious.

Saturday morning J took "Sol" to the free kids workshop at Home Depot. This was the first time Sol has gone and she had a lot of fun making bookworm bookends! Afterwards J took her to McDonald's for a pancake brunch and icecream. It was a nice little daddy/daughter outing for the two of them!

Indie enjoyed this puzzle at life group at a friend's house Sunday evening. She's fascinated by buckles, ties and zippers so this is perfect for her! I've been thinking of getting her a bear like this one too. I'll be posting about Indie's recent evaluation soon. She'll be starting therapy at home within the next few weeks and we'll be looking at additional resources for her as well.

Sol cracked me up Sunday evening wearing my sunglasses and flip-flops and holding my bag. Ha!

I found Indie laying next to Alex in bed Sunday night cuddling with
his teddy bear and watching live TV on his tablet. So sweet!

Our sweet dog E had surgery a couple weeks ago and just got his cone off Saturday. We bathed him last night and then he sat with J while he was watching TV. So, so sweet! E loves to be held and cuddled. He's just 7 months old so still a baby.

I have several blog posts coming up including the things we'll need for our first year of homeschooling and Indie's recent evaluation. It looks like we don't have so much rain this week so I'm hoping I can finish painting my outdoor table! It's bright and sunny now so we're off to the pool now! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
