Weekend Fun!

I'm linking up to Hello Monday and Mommy Monday Blog Hop today!
I would love for you to follow my blog (link in sidebar). Comment here,
let me know you're a new follower and I will follow back!

We had a great last weekend of the summer! Lots of shopping and swimming!

Friday afternoon I got a few more samples in the mail! A pure sugar scrub mask and a pure clay mask from L'Oreal. And a Garnier coconut hair mask from PinchMe. I love freebies and can't wait to try these!
Friday evening the kids and I went up to the neighborhood icecream social at our community pool!

Mar put earphones on Indie for the first time Friday night. Indie did great with them and had fun
watching Cat In The Hat before bed. She looks way too grown up here!

Mar and I had a girls day out on Saturday. Our first stop was Ikea! She hasn't been to Ikea since she was a baby so this was all new to her! She loved looking at all the little model rooms and all the fun décor!

I ended up only getting a small plant, a pot and a candle but I loved this light. I think it would be really cute and fun in our school room!

I love these dining chairs too!

We had lunch in the café at Ikea. It was surprisingly good! I had a salad and Mar had chicken strips.

We went to few stores after Ikea. I loved this huge mug at Charming Charlie's...

 And this water bottle :)

 I got a couple pair of earrings and these fun gold rings at Charming Charlie's. {I think a certain 2 year old took off with my earrings. I couldn't find them this morning.}

We found a lot of fun clearance items at Marshall's. I love the blue water bottle I bought for $6! We got a huge watermelon pool float for $6 and several toys for like $0.30-$.50!

I painted the girls toenails bright pink to match mine. It's fun to match!

The kids had so much fun on the watermelon float yesterday evening!!

We stopped by the new playground on the way home from the pool!

I realized late Friday night that I messed up big time and it's way too late to register Alex for baseball! He loved playing this spring and has been looking forward to playing again this fall all summer. I feel terrible. After several phone calls and emails he is on the waiting list for the league he played for last spring. I'm praying he gets in! I had to tell him what was going on yesterday and he actually took the news better than I expected. I've been looking for other things he could do this fall and discovered a local Trail Life group.. similar to Boy Scouts but Christian based. He's really excited to join! And he plans to get back to baseball in the spring if he doesn't get in at some point this season.

Today is the first day of school! Second grade for Alex at public (this is the first year he has gone to school alone... kind of bittersweet) and first day of fourth for Mar.. and our first day homeschooling! So far, so good!

Weekend Wrap-Up

The three girls all ready for church yesterday morning! I love this picture of them!

All 4 kids ready for church. I woke up with a migraine yesterday morning so my awesome hubby took the kids for church and let me stay home and rest. I've been getting migraines every day the past several days. I think these are allergy related and connected to the major muscle tension I'm having in my shoulders and upper back. I'm planning to go to the chiro tomorrow and I know that will really help!

This pictures was actually from Thursday evening when we had a storm coming in. I just love a great storm and a love watching storm clouds! Thankfully all we got was a ton of rain and nothing serious.

Saturday morning J took "Sol" to the free kids workshop at Home Depot. This was the first time Sol has gone and she had a lot of fun making bookworm bookends! Afterwards J took her to McDonald's for a pancake brunch and icecream. It was a nice little daddy/daughter outing for the two of them!

Indie enjoyed this puzzle at life group at a friend's house Sunday evening. She's fascinated by buckles, ties and zippers so this is perfect for her! I've been thinking of getting her a bear like this one too. I'll be posting about Indie's recent evaluation soon. She'll be starting therapy at home within the next few weeks and we'll be looking at additional resources for her as well.

Sol cracked me up Sunday evening wearing my sunglasses and flip-flops and holding my bag. Ha!

I found Indie laying next to Alex in bed Sunday night cuddling with
his teddy bear and watching live TV on his tablet. So sweet!

Our sweet dog E had surgery a couple weeks ago and just got his cone off Saturday. We bathed him last night and then he sat with J while he was watching TV. So, so sweet! E loves to be held and cuddled. He's just 7 months old so still a baby.

I have several blog posts coming up including the things we'll need for our first year of homeschooling and Indie's recent evaluation. It looks like we don't have so much rain this week so I'm hoping I can finish painting my outdoor table! It's bright and sunny now so we're off to the pool now! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I'm linking up to a couple blog hops here and here today!

We had a pretty low key weekend. The guys came home from vacation Thursday night. Friday we slept as late as possible (which isn't very late when the kids wake up at the near crack of dawn), we did some things around the house.. I've been trying to sort, shred and organize paperwork the past few days. I'm so behind. We have birth certificates stashed in 2-3 different rooms of the house, kids drawings and crafts and mail are everywhere.. you get the idea. So I've been working on that. We went swimming late Friday morning. The kids just love swimming with their daddy. He doesn't swim with us often so it's a real treat when he comes along too. Friday afternoon J took ALL FOUR KIDS grocery shopping with him while I did more stuff around here. And Friday evening he cooked out burgers for dinner.

Saturday J took off early, early to meet up with co-workers and drive over 3 hours to the beach. The spent a few hours fishing before driving back. He caught two fish and had to throw one back. It wasn't a great fishing day and he got a little seasick but had fun! It was his first time fishing out in the ocean. The kids and I stayed home all day Saturday. It was nice and relaxing. We did walk out to the ice cream truck late in the evening and had ice cream for dinner ha!

Sunday morning we went to church, came home for lunch and naps/quiet time then meet life group friends for an early dinner at a local pizza place. These are the only two pics I got all weekend!! Sol kept asking to sit in the large window at the pizza place ha! I guess that's a big deal when you're 4! She's been taking those little binoculars with her everywhere lately too lol! After dinner we all went outside to a little side yard at the restaurant where the kids ran around and played tag with their friends. Then we stopped by Wal-Mart for a few things on the way home. Sol wanted me to take this pic of her in the cart. Ha!

Poor Indie started getting a runny nose last night and woke up with a fever this morning. :( She's not feeling very well but is up playing now after taking some medicine.

The big kids are going to another VBS this week. This will be Alex's first VBS this summer since he was out of town last week when the big girls went.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

What I'm Reading

I'm linking up to Monday Mommy Blog Hop today. Link up here

There's a few books I've been trying to read the past month or so. I've actually already renewed a couple of these from the library before I even read a whole chapter. I love to read but it's hard to find the time.. especially since it's easier to sit down and watch a movie or TV show while playing on my phone ha! I haven't gotten on board with online reading yet. I'm still holding tightly to real books and don't see myself switching over any time soon.

Sweet Salt Air, by Barbara Delinsky

This one is a library book. I've read Barbara Delinsky several times and love her books! I imagine this one will be a great read too!

The Other Mother, by Carol Goodman

I think I found this one on the "new books" shelf at the front of the library. I've never heard of this author but it looks interesting and I hope to actually read it before it's due again.

Daddy, by Danielle Steel

I found an old, paperback copy of this one at a garage sale a few weeks ago. I'm not quite half way through. I find Danielle Steel books to be very easy reads and enjoy most of her books.

What are you reading right now?

Florida, Vow Renewal

I'm linking up with Monday Mommy Blog Hop today!

We had our long awaited 10 year vow renewal on the beach while we were in Florida!
My Wedding Shop in PCB set everything up for us! Beautiful décor and we couldn't have been happier!

These are a just few cellphone pics taken by friends and family. I will share the official photos soon!

Water bottle labels were ordered off Etsy. These labels were awesome, easy to put on and held up great even in the ice!

Alex and Mar before the service.

I loved Mar's dress! This was the second dress I had picked out for her. I had originally ordered this one for the little girls too but decided to return their's and go with something simpler and cooler for them.. especially with Indie's sensory issues. All the dresses and wreathes are from Amazon.

The sign says "10 Years Later". We got a late start and photos
were kind of rushed but the sunset was amazing!

 Sol, Mar and Indie

Indie looking cute holding one of our bouquet's (ordered from Publix.) Thank goodness curly hair is so forgiving ha! We didn't have a bathtub in our Airbnb and she wouldn't even begin to let me wash her hair in the shower or sink. This is after a long day of travel and two days at the beach.

We didn't have a wedding ten years ago so all this planning was new to me. It's crazy to plan something for so long and then it's over so quickly! Everything turned out beautifully and I can't wait to share more pics soon!
