Freebies!

I love signing up for freebies for my family and I! I found most of these deals from Money Saving Mom

This past week I received this cute little keychain fob from Redline Steel for free. We're pet owners now and I love our sweet puppy so much! This is a cute little reminder of him every day when I'm out and about. I should have taken a pic as soon as I got it. Several days later and there's a lot of smudge prints and it's showing some wear. So cute though and very sturdy and well made!

I also signed up for some make-up samples. I received this lip crayon from Because Cosmetics yesterday. Hot pink really isn't my color but I was excited to get it and try it out! My girls have enjoyed putting it on for fun too! Again, I should have taken a pic first thing. My 2 yr old got a hold of this and ruined the tip ha!

Lego stores have a free, mini Lego Build every month for first register/first serve Lego VIP members. It's free to sign up to become a VIP member! We haven't gone to a mini Lego Build yet but my son is super excited about attending the August event! He'll be building a little snail to bring home. Lego stores offer a different mini-build every month!

Home Depot offers a free kids work shop the first Saturday of every month! My husband and son have gone in the past to build a little wooden pencil box. This coming Saturday, Aug 4th the craft is bookworm bookends! You can find your local store and register here. The kids will bring home their project as well as a mini Home Depot apron and a little pin as long as supplies last.

Michael's has a free dino slime event for kids this Saturday, August 4th between 1 and 3! I know my kids will love this! They talk about making slime constantly but we haven't made any yet.

I was able to request free hip dysplasia awareness bracelets from International Hip Dysplasia Institute at hipdysplasia.org. We received three bracelets that we'll proudly wear for our little Indie! If you or a loved one have dealt/are dealing with hip dysplasia you can email and ask for bracelets of your own.

I love my freebies, free events and great deals and love to share! Be sure to stop by Money Saving Mom for more great deals and free offers!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I'm linking up to a couple blog hops here and here today!

We had a pretty low key weekend. The guys came home from vacation Thursday night. Friday we slept as late as possible (which isn't very late when the kids wake up at the near crack of dawn), we did some things around the house.. I've been trying to sort, shred and organize paperwork the past few days. I'm so behind. We have birth certificates stashed in 2-3 different rooms of the house, kids drawings and crafts and mail are everywhere.. you get the idea. So I've been working on that. We went swimming late Friday morning. The kids just love swimming with their daddy. He doesn't swim with us often so it's a real treat when he comes along too. Friday afternoon J took ALL FOUR KIDS grocery shopping with him while I did more stuff around here. And Friday evening he cooked out burgers for dinner.

Saturday J took off early, early to meet up with co-workers and drive over 3 hours to the beach. The spent a few hours fishing before driving back. He caught two fish and had to throw one back. It wasn't a great fishing day and he got a little seasick but had fun! It was his first time fishing out in the ocean. The kids and I stayed home all day Saturday. It was nice and relaxing. We did walk out to the ice cream truck late in the evening and had ice cream for dinner ha!

Sunday morning we went to church, came home for lunch and naps/quiet time then meet life group friends for an early dinner at a local pizza place. These are the only two pics I got all weekend!! Sol kept asking to sit in the large window at the pizza place ha! I guess that's a big deal when you're 4! She's been taking those little binoculars with her everywhere lately too lol! After dinner we all went outside to a little side yard at the restaurant where the kids ran around and played tag with their friends. Then we stopped by Wal-Mart for a few things on the way home. Sol wanted me to take this pic of her in the cart. Ha!

Poor Indie started getting a runny nose last night and woke up with a fever this morning. :( She's not feeling very well but is up playing now after taking some medicine.

The big kids are going to another VBS this week. This will be Alex's first VBS this summer since he was out of town last week when the big girls went.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Friday Favorites

I'm linking up to Friday Favorites today!

First off, I adore the font on the Friday Favorites graphic! Anyone know which font that is?

I'm re-reading another book from my own collection right now by one of my all time favorite authors. Mary Higgins Clark is a favorite and I love to re read her books from time to time. After a year or two I honestly forget who did what in most of her books and definitely forget most of the details so they're fun to read again!

The guys spent a few days in Texas, visiting friends and family, this week! This was Bleu's first time to fly! They had a great time and a well deserved break from all of us girls ha!

The girls and I had a lot of fun here at home! After we dropped the boys off we went to Build A Bear to use the vouchers we got on pay-your-age day.

Mar and Sol went to VBS several days this week. On Wednesday they wanted to wear their overalls. I found Sol's Gap overalls at Goodwill last weekend! I love my Goodwill finds! Mar's overalls are from Wal-Mart.

It was nice just having Indie with me for 3 hours a day, several days this week. It's amazing how relaxing it can be with a two-year-old when she's the only one around. I was really proud of her Sunday evening. She sat in the bottom of this shopping cart (something she's never done before) without hesitation! Good milestone for a 2 yr old who freaks out all the time over new or different things! Then she ran down an empty church pew a few times while we waited to pick up the big girls from VBS. Another good milestone as she tends to be afraid of heights/ledges and feels like she's about to fall pretty often. I was also pleased to see her running in a straight line since she tends to be off balance and clumsy pretty often due to hip dysplasia and sensory issues. She was really pleased with herself!

All three girls wanted to sleep in my bed while the guys were out of town. I woke up during the night one night and found them like this (notice Indie's foot on Sol's chest!) and had to get a pic!

We went to a friend's birthday party Wednesday afternoon. Indie loved the little chalkboard/magnet board. I think something like this will be a great birthday gift for her in October!

I've gotten in the habit of driving around the neighborhood on trash day looking for treasures. (#noshame) This crib spring was one of my best finds yet! I've been wanting one to hang up for a while. This one looks perfectly new (maybe too new!) but I can rough it up a bit to give it a shabby look. I'm tickled pink with it and just trying to decide where to hang it now. Of course Pinterest has the cutest ideas!

Indie asked me to get her snow boots down the other day then insisted on wearing them to drop the big girls off at VBS and run errands. I asked her if she was 'sure she wanted to wear them because they're a little ridiculous in July'. She replied: "They not rick-less! I wuv dem!" Haha!

She was excited to get her own water from Starbucks while running errands! I think it was too cold for her but she seemed really pleased to have her own cup from Starbucks. :)

This was just part of our fun, busy week!! The guys had a great trip and got home last night! We're glad to have them home! J is home today and running errands with all 4 kids at the moment. Meanwhile I need to tackle my mile long to do list including cleaning, organizing (I still have tons of organizing to do from our move in June) and I need to finish painting the patio table I got for free. I'll post about that project soon!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Pool Fun!

We had lots of fun at the pool last week! I love summer pics and try to take a lot!
I probably take too many ha!

Our community pool has a little snack bar open a few days a
week and the kids were begging for icecream!

 Indie and Alex

Indie has gone from being terrified of the water at the beginning of the summer to kicking around the pool on her own wearing her little Puddle Jumper. Her new thing is to lean back and make an attempt to float on her back. It's so cute and I just love her new found confidence!!

I just love lazy, summer days at the pool! Good thing we enjoyed it last week because it's been raining quite a bit the last few days (it's pouring right now!) and I think the rain is supposed to continue through the week.

I've been making a few changes on my blog including a new name! I wanted something upbeat and happy and "sunshiney days" seemed like a great fit! I'd love for you to take a moment to follow me on Google + and Blog Lovin'! I will follow back! :) Thanks for the stopping by!!

shopping with sol

The grocery store down the road has these little kids' carts that Sol just loves! We're generally Wal-Mart people so tiny carts are novelty for my kids. I had to run up to the store for dessert Sunday afternoon (after our brownies burned and we needed a quick replacement for company.) Sol begged to go with me and ran for this cart as soon as we entered the store lol!

She's a great little helper and a pro at shopping ha!

She pushed her little cart out to the van, unloaded it and left in with the big carts. So cute!!
I love even short outings with just one kid. It's always fun and I know it's special for each of them!

Build-A-Bear, pool fun and stuff!

We went to Build-A-Bear last week for the pay-your-age day ha! I must have not been thinking because I was imagining reasonable lines, getting in and out within an hour, etc. We got there at 9:45 and the line went outside and around the mall! They were closing the line by the time we got there.. which was fine. I wasn't about to stand in line and wait 4-6 hours with 4 kids in tow. A friend met us there with her son so we ended up visiting a few different stores, riding the carousel and eating pizza for lunch! We did get vouchers for Build-A-Bear. We're planning to go back this weekend!

Sol and her little buddy!

Friday we went swimming for the first time all week. Now that's in mid-July I just don't have the energy to be at the pool every other day like I did at the beginning of summer.

Indie playing with her Legos. I don't remember my other kids sitting this way. Pretty sure it has to do with her hip dysplasia and loose joints. We find her in the craziest positions!

Mar reading to the little girls before bed. She's such a sweet big sister!

Chik-Fil-A Day!

Yesterday was Chik-Fil-A appreciation day! We went to the mall and got our free lunch!

The older kids three years ago, back in Texas, before Indie was born.

Sol and Indie looking cute in their shirts at the mall.
Indie loves her shirt so much she slept in it last night and
has been going around saying "I a cow! Moo!" Ha!

The girls finishing up my Starbucks frappucino.

Alex wanted to go into a team sports store. We were excited to see teams from back in Texas!

Indie picked up an LSU trash can and said she wanted it! Ha!
Super cute since it's the college my mom and several cousins have gone too!

Dallas Cowboys!

It was a fun day! We've been spending a lot of time at home lately so
it was nice to go out and do something different! Tomorrow we're planning
to go to Build-A-Bear pay your age day!
